At Universal-Macomb Ambulance Service, our commitment to provide the highest quality of care is reflected in the comprehensive community medical services we offer. By offering both emergency and non-emergency services, working proactively and collaborating with the communities we serve, we are able to provide new and creative solutions to enhance patient care and the overall customer experience.
Universal-Macomb bought its first ambulance in 1957 and began operating the premiere ambulance transportation service in Detroit, Michigan. Today, we provide emergency and non-emergency ambulance services to more than 30,000 patients annually across Southeast Michigan. Our ambulance service staff members are nationally and state-licensed and include Emergency Medical Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics, and Critical Care Paramedics.
Our emergency and non-emergency ambulance services are available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week / 365 days a year.
Wheelchair Transport Services
Universal-Macomb provides door-to-door non-emergency transportation services for our patients who are wheelchair bound or have a reduced level of mobility. Patients are transported safely and comfortably, remaining secured in their wheelchairs during their trip and our vehicles can comfortably fit family members as well. Our Wheelchair Transport Vehicles are staffed by courteous, professional drivers who are specially trained to provide the highest level of care and comfort.
Our Wheelchair Transport Services are available Monday thru Saturday 4:00am to 8:00pm to transport patients and family members to medical and non-medical destinations.
As a longstanding member of the community, Universal-Macomb is honored to be able to give back to and support those we serve. Our annual community outreach efforts vary throughout the calendar year and include free education and career advancement courses, CPR training, wellness and health checks, event standbys, career fairs, and disaster recovery planning.
